Stick a fork in me, I'm done!

Sorry it's been awhile since our last update.  As our due date draws closer, we've become busier making sure we get as much as we can done before our little girl takes her first breath.

Below are Annie's last pregnancy pictures at 9 months.  All pictures from here on out will inclue the baby! We have another doctor's appointment on Wednesday where Annie will be checked for dialation and labor progression.  We are taking friendly bets on her due date and size.  Steve thinks it will be on 9/16/11 and Annie is wishfully pushing for 9/10/11.

Keep your phones close as many of you will be updated as time draws near.

Cord Blood Registry

We have gone to a couple of informational sessions about banking cord blood and feel strongly that this is something we want to do.  If you are not familiar with what this is, it is the process of saving blood from the baby's umbilical cord to use later if needed.  It treats several diseases and disorders such as leukemia, anemia, immune disorders, cerebral palsy and many more.  We hope we will never need to use it but it is definitely something we feel will benefit our child or someone elses.

If anyone is interested in supporting us in this, it can be quite pricey so we welcome any and all contributions to this.  You can donate by clicking on the link on the top right of this blog labeled Cord Blood Registry.

36 Week Update

We just had our two week checkup and everything still looks good.  Our next checkup is on the 24th and we will do our last ultrasound to make sure Kinley is in position.  They will also do a quick assessment to give us a better idea of how close the delivery date is.

Sooo, time is drawing near and we have started to get things checked off of our to-do list.  Stroller is put together and car seat is in the car...check.  Baby monitor is up and running, not to mention that if you are signed up for skype, add anniejanegoodwin as a friend.  If you are not, you should create an account as we can skype and connect our monitor as the video feed so you can see the little one (and babysit from wherever you are!).  Annie just packed the bags for the hospital and is ready to go anytime.  We also have our hospital tour tomorrow to make it easier when the day is here.

As time draws near, keep your phones and facebook nearby.  We will try to keep you as up to date as possible on her progress.  Stay tuned.

Baby Shower

Just wanted to put a quick shout out to my sister Pascha for putting together my baby shower.  Also, thank you for everyone that made the drive down to Hermosa Beach and braved finding a space to park your car.  Below are a couple of pics!

Whew, what a weekend!

We had a very busy weekend.  Annie's mother and aunt are in town for her baby shower, which was a huge success.  Annie and Steve also took some maternity pictures and some great painted belly shots, courtesy of our neice and nephew, Lily and Dalton.

Only 8 more weeks until the girl is here and we can't wait!  Lots of more stuff to plan and and take care of but we will be ready (well...as ready as two new parents can be!).

The Glider is here!

After long hours of sanding, staining, and reupholstering, the glider is now finished!  It turned out great and Annie and Steve are excited to start using it.

4th of July Cookouts = Lots of Cooking in the Kitchen

We had a great fourth of july hanging out with our good friends.  We ate, ate, and ate a some more waiting for the fireworks to start.  The picture below is one of the mishaps when making too many dishes.  Steve was looking for an egg that must have rolled of the counter.  We found it after a few minutes of looking.

Belly Belly Belly...but no outie belly button!!

Annie is now at 29 weeks.  We are counting down the weeks left and hope the summer will be a mild one.  It's already getting hot down here (yes, high 70s to low 80s is hot for us beach people) but at least the nights are really nice.  Annie is convinced she will only get a little bigger in the next 11 weeks.  We'll see!!

More Baby Room Updates..

We have added a few more things to our shelves and Annie is running out of room (and excuses!) to buy anymore knick knacks.  Steve spent the last few weekends sanding and staining the glider that Pascha gave us and it looks great.  Now we are just waiting for the new cushions that Pascha is reupholstering for us.  Almost there!

What is that....

It's momma's HUGE belly!!  26 weeks and counting..98 days left.  She's officially out of normal clothes and has adpoted comfortable dresses in her attire.  And maybe some preggo pants and belly bands.  Starting to feel lots of movement across the belly and she gained 9 pounds at her last doctor's visit which her doc was very happy about (but Annie was a little freaked out by it).  All in all, things are good and we will both be happy if the pregnancy continues like this.

Baby Room Updates

Well, more nesting going on here.  Annie's been scavenging for the personal touches to add to the baby's room and we got a few more pieces this weekend.  Here are a few of Annie's favorites.

Partyin' in Newport

We had a good time in Newport Beach.  We got to celebrate our anniversary and the wedding of one of Annie's friends.  Steve obviously had a little more fun.

It's Bedtime

We got two new beds for the place.  One kitty bed cause we are trying to train them to not sleep on our beds and sleep in their own bed.  Is sleep training cats easier than kids?  The other bed is for all you future baby sitters out there.  Extremely comfortable and ready for use!

Another Week Down! 16 to go.

Holy belly.  We are definitely into the growing and eating phase of the pregnancy.  We had a great anniversary weekend and enjoyed many a good meal, especially the funnel cake. Yum!  I guess I will be growing more as the weeks progress so this should be interesting...Definitely making up for lost time.

22 Weeks Down!

We are now 22 weeks down and 18 more weeks to go.  My belly is growing every day and baby Kinley is doing great.  She has been kicking and moving quite frequently, letting me know when she is hungry.

The Baby's a Kickin!

Finally a couple of days ago, Steve felt her kick!  He was very excited to finally understand what Annie feels inside her belly all day long.  We just had our last check up and the doctor said everything is going great and the baby is doing really well.  It took the doctor a little longer to find her heartbeat because Kinley was swimming around and avoiding her.  I wonder what our future holds...olympic swimmer?

Baby's got style!!!

So when we found out it was a girl we immediatly went out and bought her first outfits.  Since then we have also received a few from both Grandma Terri, Grandma Nancy and Sam & Danny.  I picked a few of our favs, and if you think they are cute now...wait until you get to see them on our lil' bugger :)

Rock the Craddle of Love

Picked up Steve's craddle from his own childhood.  We thought it would be a great tradition to have our kids share the same craddle as their father.  Now, we have to find room for it!  It's in great shape and was hand built by Steve's grandfather's best friend Russ Knapp.

We had Easter brunch and an egg hunt with Dalton and Lily then took them to Steve's dad's house to see the new addition to the arabian family!

Momma's Growin' Belly

Definitely showing progress now week to week.  This is week 19 and Annie is now being recognized by others as being a pregnant lady.  Although she can still fit into most of her clothes, they are starting to look very different on her ever changing belly.

Painting the Baby's Room

We've been busy!  We have decided on stripes and keeping it happy and cheerful with bright yellow.  Annie was inspired by her great-grandma Lucy's quilt.  Steve spent Saturday measuring, taping and painting but the final product was very worth it.  We both love it and know Kinley will too.
