Cord Blood Registry

We have gone to a couple of informational sessions about banking cord blood and feel strongly that this is something we want to do.  If you are not familiar with what this is, it is the process of saving blood from the baby's umbilical cord to use later if needed.  It treats several diseases and disorders such as leukemia, anemia, immune disorders, cerebral palsy and many more.  We hope we will never need to use it but it is definitely something we feel will benefit our child or someone elses.

If anyone is interested in supporting us in this, it can be quite pricey so we welcome any and all contributions to this.  You can donate by clicking on the link on the top right of this blog labeled Cord Blood Registry.

36 Week Update

We just had our two week checkup and everything still looks good.  Our next checkup is on the 24th and we will do our last ultrasound to make sure Kinley is in position.  They will also do a quick assessment to give us a better idea of how close the delivery date is.

Sooo, time is drawing near and we have started to get things checked off of our to-do list.  Stroller is put together and car seat is in the car...check.  Baby monitor is up and running, not to mention that if you are signed up for skype, add anniejanegoodwin as a friend.  If you are not, you should create an account as we can skype and connect our monitor as the video feed so you can see the little one (and babysit from wherever you are!).  Annie just packed the bags for the hospital and is ready to go anytime.  We also have our hospital tour tomorrow to make it easier when the day is here.

As time draws near, keep your phones and facebook nearby.  We will try to keep you as up to date as possible on her progress.  Stay tuned.
